This is what a clean freak who loves to cook like me would do: cook delicious food but try to minimize the effort of cleaning the kitchen aftermath.
Also, you would make this dish if you have a husband like mine who will open you a can of chicken soup when you crave for fried chicken in the middle of the night.
Ingredients (8 chicken thighs):
2 cups fresh bread crumbs 2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 teaspoon dried parsley 1 teaspoon dried basil 1 teaspoon garlic powder 8 chicken thighs or breasts 3 tabespoons melted unsalted butterDirections:
Preheat oven to 400F.
Mix all ingredients except chicken and butter.
Press chicken into the melted butter and turn to coat thoroughly with the mixture. Arrange the coated chicken on the baking dish.
Bake for 15 minutes, turn and bake for another 15 minutes. Chicken is done when juices run clear when pricked with a fork.
Serve hot with ketchup.

I hear you about the cleaning part after frying. I luv this version of “fried” chicken much better than deep frying. Oven is the way to do it and more healthy!
What a GREAT way to have fried chicken in a re-invented healthier version! Thank you for sharing!!!
Your recipe makes fried chicken much more doable. thanks for a great post!
Your oven baked chicken chunks look as crisp the fried one….only so much healthier!
much healthier and delicious!a very good idea!
That’s cute about your husband. Love fried chicken but you’re right, sometimes you just don’t want all the work.
So much healthier and probably better tasting too!
Love the crunch of fried chicken but it’s usually too greasy and not very healthy. Thanks for giving a healthier option that will definitely be used in my kitchen in the near future!!
Thanks lululu for your oven fried chicken. Mouthwatering to the dot. Will definitely try this healthy oven fried chicken :)
Oven fried works for me!! no oil splattering
yay! this is the kind of recipe I can do it at home. My apartment is so small, it would be so stinky to deep fried in this tiny hole. Your way is much better, and it looks crispy too! It’s probably healthier too, huh? Great stuff lululu.
I love fried chicken, but I’m like you, I don’t want to make a mess in the kitchen with splashing oil, so I usually avoid frying in my kitchen. Your oven fried chicken will be perfect next time I have craving for fried chicken, (which happens a lot!).
Using fresh bread crumbs is always so much better.
Yum! This looks absolutely delicious. And I love that it isn’t quite as bad for you as fried chicken dunked in oil.
